Honey, we're home!

Updated: Nov 7, 2018

After a 16-month whirlwind of baby, hurricanes, flooding, remodeling, selling and buying ... we're finally home sweet home and happy as clams at our beautiful new build in Jordan Ranch!

Well, hey neighbor!

Here we are, we've found each other in our little corners of the world and I couldn't be happier to meet you. My name is Jillian Wells and I'm the luckiest ever stay-at-home mom and wife to my wonderful husband Shane and our beautiful 16-month old daughter Bella. She's our only one so far but --- you never know! A little bit about me? I was born and raised in Baytown, a small, quiet, country suburb of Houston. I graduated from the University of Houston (go Coogs!) and went to work straight away in the oil and gas industry where I met my super cute husband (we didn't work together but his office was right in front of the elevator and, despite what he'll admit to, he would flirt flirt flirt his little tush off every morning when I'd get off the elevator in the morning! He'd always smile and say 'Hey, Old Lady'. Cute Right?). We were both workaholics for a good, good while -- through our entire 20s -- but finally settled down a bit and welcomed our beautiful baby girl in 2017; I'm lucky enough to get to stay home with her now and focus on spoiling her rotten.

So how did we end up here?

We built our first home together back in 2011 not too far from here (literally the next exit over) in Willow Creek Farms. We loved it; it was a great first home for us that we enjoyed during our young, single (without kids) days. But as our lives changed with the birth of our baby, and life was throwing us some major curveballs (i.e., the Tax Day Flood we narrowly avoided and Hurricane Harvey we - like many - could not avoid), we decided to start looking to expand our horizons. With Jordan Ranch, we just felt like we were getting everything we wanted.

We got the close proximity to the interstate (which makes morning commute for the Husband so much easier), a great floor plan that suited our needs with an amazing, high-quality builder that exceeded our expectations, a great school district and so important -- that quaint country feel my husband and I were both used to growing up. We couldn't be happier with where we've chosen to plant roots for our family and cannot wait to see what the years ahead bring us!

And now I'm your Blogger!

I genuinely have no idea how I got so lucky as to be asked to write this blog for our great neighborhood and community but I couldn't be more excited at the opportunity! I'm so ready to meet more of my neighbors and the participate in so many great events and exciting things happening around our parts -- and so excited to share them here! And I'd love to hear from any of you, so please feel free to reach out to me anywhere on social media (my links are all above), I'm always around!

Cheers to what's ahead, y'all!
